Bye-bye Blog...

Sometimes you realize that even though something brings you a measure of joy, it is bringing you more stress and worry.

Blogging has been a great adventure for me!
I have met so many wonderful people and had so many amazing opportunities!
It has also taken time away from more worthwhile causes.

I want my precious time to be spent dedicated to joy!
The joy of myself, my family, my friends and neighbors.
I want to create for the joy and not worry about taking the perfect picture,
how many pageviews it will receive, and how many parties I can link up to!

I don't want to stay up late finishing projects that are due on the blog.
I want to spend more time enjoying all the wonderful things and people in my life!

I don't want to spend time worrying about why people don't like my projects or pictures
on my blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
I want to share for the joy of sharing the joy I feel in my life!

Thank you to all the people who have supported me in my blogging journey!
What an adventure it has been!

XOXO
Jaime

Rufflicious Pumpkin!

I couldn't let the season pass without another design
in the Rufflicious series!

The little pumpkin princesses are all ready for fun fall adventures!

They had a ball jumping and twirling in their new outfits!

There's still time to make a Rufflicious Pumpkin for your princess!

Handmade Halloween Party!

Last night was our annual Handmade Halloween Party!
(Invite designed by Funky Polkadot Giraffe)

You can't have a party without yummy snacks!
And they must be in cute buckets.

I made everyone a caramel apple smothered in Ghirardelli chocolate
and rolled in crushed candy corn m&m's!

All the ladies brought a yummy festive treat!
We had a puking pumpkin, pumpkin deviled eggs, bacon-wrapped dates,
pumpkin cookies, muffins, apples with caramel dip, and my husband's Twix caramel corn!

Then it was time to craft!
I had my friends at Home Depot cut a couple 2x4's into pieces.
Then I spray painted them orange...pumpkin orange!

We sanded the edges down a little for a shabby chic look.

And mod-podged the letters FALL onto the pumpkin blocks!
My husband cut a dowel into little stem-like pieces,
and we glued them on the top of our blocks with E-6000.

We had so much fun chatting and making our pumpkin blocks!

Tie a little raffia around the stems when the glue dries and display proudly!

P.S. If you want to purchase these blocks instead of making them yourself,
see our inspiration HERE at this fun Etsy shop!

HAPPY HANDMADE HALLOWEEN!

Mickey's Halloween Party!

Every year Disneyland hosts a special Halloween celebration!

It has been a dream of mine to take my kids to Mickey's Halloween Party for years!
This year Disney made my dream come true!!

My little Jedi was ready to take on the party!

Tinkerbell was so excited for the candy!

Decorations from the parking lot all the way through the park
got us excited for Halloween Time at Disneyland!

When we walked in the park, we were given wristbands.
These identified us as Mickey's Halloween Party guests!

The special tickets for Mickey's Halloween Party allowed us to enter the park
3 hours before the party started to have some extra fun!

We rode our favorite rides, ate and watched the parade.

It was so fun to be there together as a family!

At 6:00 the park closed and the lights came on for Mickey's Halloween Party!

The kids were excited to go trick-or-treating with their special bags from Disneyland!

We had to check out The Haunted Mansion,
all decked out as The Nightmare Before Christmas!
One of my favorites!

The train station sported some cobwebs...

...and some spooky villains for photo ops!

The crowning jewel of the night was the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular!
My favorite fireworks show ever, with Jack Skellington as the host!
Ghosts floated across the castle, laser beams shot across the sky!
Amazing! I could watch it over and over!!

Mickey, you sure know how to throw a party!
We can't wait to come again!

Mickey's Halloween Party will be open through the month of October!
Hurry and get your tickets, the party sells out fast!

Thank you Disneyland for making my family's dreams come true!

FRANKENWEENIE!

It's COMING...

FRANKENWEENIE!

I took my son to an advance screening of Disney's newest collaboration with Tim Burton.
It is SPOOKY family fun!
I did not know it was designed to be a throwback to the classic Frankenstein.
The film was entirely black and white and referenced scary films like Frankenstein and Gremlins!
I laughed, I covered my eyes in fright, and I was totally spooked!
But my son loved it, and I bet your kids will too!

Frankenweenie opens tomorrow at a theater near you!

Check out the trailer!

Candy Corn Chocolate Chip Cookies!

C is for Candy Corn Chocolate Chip Cookies!
I took two of my favorite things and combined them into a new favorite!

This cutie couldn't wait to get her hands on one or ten of them!

Mmmmm....ready for the recipe??
(It's really just my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe with candy corn on top, HA!)

Candy Corn Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tsp coarse salt
2 1/2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 cups chocolate chips
1 package candy corn

Mix and bake!
(There are fancier instructions, but I don't think they matter, LOL)

Oven: 350 degrees
Bake for 12ish minutes :)
Press a couple candy corn into the top when they are hot out of the oven!

ENJOY my friends!
